Offline Printer
Overview
If a particular one or multiple workstations/tablets in a hospital show a designated printer as offline, confirm that the WiFi connection of that workstation is on the correct network. If the workstation or device is connected via ethernet, please check the ethernet cable to make sure it’s fully connected.
In the case where multiple workstations/tablets show an offline printer, check the printer to make sure it’s powered on and connected to the internet via either ethernet or Wi-Fi.
Procedure
There are generally two WiFi connections available to a hospital:
The hospital's primary WiFi: PathwayWiFi, ECFA, ACCESS
MyVetGuestWiFi
Sometimes a workstation will drift from the primary WiFi to the guest WiFi, resulting in lower speed and an inability to access the printers. This may be resolved by switching back to the primary WiFi.
Select the network icon in the lower right corner and choose the primary and not the Guest WiFi.
To avoid this drift in the future, connect to the PathwayWiFi and have the computer forget the Guest WiFi.
Right-click the Network Icon and select Open Network & Internet Settings.
Select WiFi and select Manage known networks.
Select MyVetGuestWiFi and choose to Forget.
