OFFICIAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH PNP.THRIVEPET.COM AND NOT AS A PDF. |
The Thrive Information Security and Legal teams require that all Technology equipment accessing our systems is controlled. To do this, the Technology department is only authorized to support and manage devices purchased through the appropriate IT process chain.
This chain allows us to manage and support the devices remotely through our cloud-based endpoint management solution and provides asset tracking for both the Technology and Finance departments.
For any hardware or software request, contact ithelp@thrivepet.com.
Hardware or software procured outside of this policy represents a security risk to the organization and impacts the business's financial and technology support.
Standard Hardware
The standard equipment used on the Thrive Pet Healthcare network is found in Confluence.
Any device five years or older and at the end of its life requires replacement.
Vetspire requires 16 GB to run.
Hardware Naming Convention
See Technology Naming Conventions for reference.
Workstation Login for Hospitals and Support Office
Local Account
The technology standard is to create a Local Account for each workstation with “Staff” for the generic login and a standard generic password for all users to access the workstation. The Local Account can help protect the computer by preventing users from making changes that affect everyone who uses the computer, such as deleting files required for the computer to work.
Actions that effect other users such as installing software or changing securities settings, must be performed through an Administrator Account.
Administrator Account
The Administrator Account is necessary for updating software available on the workstation and requires administrator privileges. These privileges are granted only to the Technology Service Desk and select individuals. This account is created on each workstation with a unique password. Each workstation provided will have several options for login:
Local User Account Sign-in: Hospital Team members use this sign-in to access the workstation. A generic username and password are assigned.
User ID: Individual Team Member
Administrator Sign-in: Administrator Login and unique password for the on-site Administrator
IT Admin: Technology Admin
Support Team: All support staff devices are enrolled in InTune, and Support Office Team Members login using their Azure credentials.
If an end-user needs specific settings changed or programs installed, generate a ticket to ithelp@thrivepet.com for assistance.
Workstation Software and Desktop Shortcuts
Each Workstation is modified with programs and security software specific to Thrive Security Standards. Refer to Service Desk Confluence space for a list of necessary components.
Standard Hardware
The standard equipment specifications used for Thrive Hospitals and Support Office may be found in Confluence.
Recommended Internet Speed for PIMS
Internet Speed
Below are the minimum speeds necessary to proceed with upgrading hospital PIMS. If the minimum requirements are unmet, an upgrade in bandwidth is required for the Practice Management System to function optimally.
0-10 workstation - 5 up/5 down
15-20 workstations - 100 up/100 down
More than 20 workstations - case by case
If the hospital shares images through a secured internet connection (MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound), the minimum speed requirement is 100 up/100 down.
Amendment and Revision History
We are committed to continuously reviewing and updating our policies and procedures. The Company, therefore, reserves the right to amend, alter, or terminate this policy/procedure at any time and for any reason, subject to applicable law. When material changes are made, Thrive will post the changes on our internal website and provide Team Members with subsequent notice consistent with local laws or regulations.
